Cost sharing & billing

Every flight logged is a flight billed

Coflyt turns Hobbs or tach time into charges automatically, splits shared costs the way your agreement says, and collects payments through Stripe — so nobody in your group has to be the bill collector.

Flight billing

Land, log, billed

Enter the Hobbs or tach at shutdown — or let ForeFlight or AirSync log the flight for you — and the charge posts to the pilot's balance at your rate. No end-of-month reconciliation, no "who flew the 12th?", no flight that quietly never gets billed.

Cost splitting

Costs split the way your agreement says

Fixed and variable costs rarely split the same way — and they don't have to. Set the split per category once: hangar and insurance divide equally, fuel and engine reserves follow hours flown. When an expense is entered, each partner's share posts to their balance. The awkward money conversation just stops happening.

Balances & payments

Balances that settle themselves

Every member sees their own balance — what they've flown, what they owe, what they've paid. When the balance goes negative, they tap Pay Balance and pay by card. Funds land in your organization's account through Stripe, the balance updates, and the transaction is on the record.

Pair it with booking rules and members below the minimum balance can't book until they've paid — the software does the enforcing.

Monthly contributions

Dues that post themselves

Monthly dues, hangar shares, engine reserves — recurring contributions post to every member's balance on schedule, every month, without a treasurer sending reminders. Members see the charge, pay it in the app, and the club's cash flow stops depending on anyone's memory.

Transaction history

A ledger everyone can check

Every charge, payment, and contribution is recorded with its date, member, and source — the flight it came from, the expense it split from, the payment that settled it. When a member asks "why do I owe this?", the answer is a tap away, and most disputes end before they start.

Nobody has to be the treasurer

The billing follows the flying — automatically, from the same records maintenance and scheduling already use.

  • Flights arrive on their own. ForeFlight and AirSync sync flights straight into billing — a synced flight bills exactly like a hand-entered one.
  • Rules read the balance. Members below the minimum balance can't book the plane until they've paid.
  • Payments go where they should. Stripe routes funds to your organization's account, updates the balance, and records the transaction in one motion.
  • Fleet-friendly pricing. At 10 aircraft, Coflyt Plus works out to about $11.08 per aircraft per month on annual billing.

Billing questions

How are flight charges calculated?

Hobbs or tach time — your choice per aircraft — multiplied by your rate. The charge posts to the pilot's balance automatically when the flight is logged, whether it was entered by hand or synced from ForeFlight or AirSync.

How do members pay?

When a member's balance is negative, they tap Pay Balance in the app and pay by card through Stripe. Funds land in your organization's account, the balance updates, and the transaction is recorded — no checks, no chasing.

Can fixed and variable costs split differently?

Yes — splitting is set per category. Split hangar and insurance equally while fuel and engine reserves follow hours flown, or match whatever your partnership agreement says. Each expense posts to member balances the way its category dictates.
